Finders Keepers Recruitment
Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Whether you are a case manager, deputy or a candidate, here are answers to the questions we hear most. If something is not covered, get in touch.

For candidates

Are you the employer?

In most cases our client appoints a Deputy, who will be your employer, and we liaise with a Case Manager working for the Deputy. Occasionally we work on behalf of the client’s family. Our involvement usually ends once you have an offer of employment, unless the client has chosen our onboarding service, in which case we stay with you until all documentation, including the offer letter and contract, is complete.

I am looking for sponsorship. Can you help?

Unfortunately, none of our clients offer sponsorship.

I do not live in the area. Can I still apply?

Because of the urgent nature of our roles, you need to live near the client’s home address, unless you can confirm you are moving to the area within the month.

What is the recruitment process?

We check your CV against the role, then email you a few further questions. If you look right, we invite you to an initial call. We send our notes to the Case Manager, who arranges a video call and, if that goes well, a face-to-face interview, sometimes with a short work-based assessment. We only put forward three or four candidates who best fit each role, so we ask that you are equally committed to the process.

Am I paid weekly or monthly?

All our roles are paid monthly, usually by the Deputy (your employer), with whom you will hold your contract of employment.

What happens if I am unsuccessful?

You will usually hear within a week of your call whether you are going forward to the next stage. If you are unsuccessful, with your consent we keep your details on file so we can tell you about future roles in your area.

For case managers & clients

Why should I use Finders Keepers?

Finding staff is time-consuming and labour-intensive. We are a team of two who work closely together, so you always speak to someone who knows you, knows your role, and has the latest position on candidates. We have years of complex care experience, advertise widely, proactively seek fresh candidates rather than recycling CVs, and keep you updated at every step.

Is there a contract of engagement?

On our initial call we agree a price for the role. Once you would like us to start, you or the client’s Deputy receive our Terms & Conditions, our Booking Form, and a Recruitment Information Form pre-populated with everything we discussed.

Will you check Right to Work and enhanced DBS?

We ask every candidate about their Right to Work and enhanced DBS at the initial call. With the Premium package we check all documentation, and if a candidate does not have an enhanced DBS we can manage the process of obtaining one.

Will you obtain references?

With the Premium package, yes — references are part of the onboarding process.

How successful are your campaigns?

Most of our campaigns are filled within four to six weeks. Some take longer where hours, shift patterns or location are challenging, but we never give up. Good candidates often have multiple offers, so we stay in close contact to keep them engaged with your role.

What about GDPR?

Finders Keepers Recruitment Ltd is registered with the ICO and fully compliant with all data protection legislation.

What are the costs?

We have standard costs, but they vary according to what you and your client need, and new clients receive an introductory discount. We are always happy to discuss pricing on a call.
